Salsa Cutthroat Fork - #alltheholes
Bikepacker's spoke and Salsa listened. The updates to the fork on the 2017 Cutthroat make the usability and integration of dynamo lighting incredibly clean and functional. Just released on Monday here at SaddleDrive in Lake Tahoe, CA.
New beautiful two tone paint for the 2017 Cutthroat looks clean. Salsa has upgraded the parts spec to SRAM Force 1 and kept the price the same.
The 3 pack mounts and thru axle we all love stay the same, but the lead up to the bottom of the head tube changes the look and aesthetic of the entire bike. The fork is now a thought through piece made specifically for the Cutthroat.
Before, the crown of the fork was just a bit skinnier than the bottom of the head tube on the frame and the flow just wasn't right. Now the lines stay clean and keep your eyes focused on the rest of the bike and looks natural.
Cutthroat owners running a dynamo light system on the 2016 model would have to find a solution for mounting their headlamp and external routing for the wiring. Now the fork is integrated with a threaded mount that will work with multiple headlamp options and internal cable routing all the way through the fork to the hub dynamo connection. Clean. Simple.
No zip ties. No wrapping the excess cable around the fork. Just hidden, beautiful, self powered electricity goodness.
We have fallen in love with the capabilities of the Salsa Cutthroat and these updates to the fork and overall stance of the bike make us love it that much more. If you have a 2016 model and want to upgrade to the new fork contact your local Salsa dealer and they will get an ETA for when these will be available. #alltheholes
